The effective resistance between P and Q...

The effective resistance between P and Q for the following network is

A

`1/12Omega`

B

`21Omega`

C

`12 Omega`

D

`1/21Omega`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

In the given circuit , `3Omega and 3Omega` are in series and this combination is in parallel with `6Omega` . Their equivalent resistance
`=((3Omega+3Omega)6Omega)/(3Omega+3Omega+6Omega)=36/12Omega=3Omega`
This resistance is in series with `4Omega and 5Omega` . So the effective resistance between P and Q is
`R_(PQ)=4Omega+3Omega+5Omega=12Omega`
