What are micelles? How is it formed when soap is added to water? Will a micelle be formed in other solvents such as ethanol also? State briefly how the formation of micelles helps to clean the clothes having oily spots.

Micelle formation will not occur in ethanol because hydrocarbon chain end of the soap will dissolve in ethanol. As a result, emulsion will not be formed.
