A liquid cannot withstand a shear stress. How does it explain the fact the surface of a liquid at rent must be leveled?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If the free surface of the liquid is not leveled, then there will be a component of force along the free surface of the liquid. The liquid will not be at rest then.
