Alcohol flows through two capillary tube...

Alcohol flows through two capillary tubes under a constant pressure head the diameters of the two tubes are in the ratio of `4:1` and the lengths are in the ratio `4:1` Compare the rates of flow of alcohols through the two tubes .

As rate of flow of liquid `(V)=(piPr^(4))/(8 eta l)`
For constant `eta and P`. We can say `l xx r^(4)/V`
`l_(1)/l_(2)=(r_(1)^(4))/V_(1) V_(2)/r_(2)^(4)`
`=(r_(1)/r_(2))^(4) (V_(2)/V_(1))=2.5:1`
