Explain why the reactance offered by an inductor increases with increasing frequency of an alternaitng voltage.

According to Lenz.s law, and inductor opposes the change In the current flowing through it by developing change emf (back emf ) in the direction opposite to the flow of current. If the current is decreasing. Induced emf will be so induced such that it increases the current and vice-versa. Also, induced emf
`epsilon prop (dI)/(dt)` (rate of change of current ).
So, if the rate of change of current is faster ( frequency is higher ), the inductor will provide greater reactance to the flow of current . Therefore, we can say that reactance of an inductor is proportional to the frequency, given by `X_(L) = omega L`.
