When an ac source is connected to an ideal capacitor, show that the average power supplied by the source over a complete cycle is zero.

(b) When connected to a DC source, the lamp will not glow. This is because the capacitor acts as a block for DC. Even on reducing the capacitance of capacitor, the lamp will not glow.
When the lamp is connected to an AC source, it will glow. But if the capacitance of the capacitor is reduced. then the brightness of the lamp will also get reduced.
