In Young's double -slit experiment butter paper is placed convering one of the slit. How will the interference pattern on a distant screen change if butter paper partially refracts the light through it?

In Young.s double-slit experiment, if one of the slit is covered with a butter paper which partially refracts the light, the amplitude of wave coming through that slit will decrease. This will result in increase in the intensity of minima and decrease in hte intensity of maxima. Thus the observed pattern will have less contrast. There would be some shift in the pattern due to extra path difference created by the butter paper.
