A. Cardiac cycle. Cardiac cycle includes the sequence of events that occur during one heart beat. Total time taken in a cardiac cycle is about 0.8 seconds. It is formed of three phases:
(i) Atrial systole.
(ii) Ventricular systole.
(iii) Joint diastole.
B. Double circulation. Birds and mammals have 4-chambered heart and complete double circulation in which blood passes twice through the heart to supply once to the body parts. It involves two circulations:
