Distinguish between dia and para magnetic substances.

Diamagnetic substances. Those substances when placed in a magnetic field are feebly magnetising field are called diamagnetic substances e.g. Cu, Zn, Bi etc.
Paramagnetic substances. Those substances which when placed in a magnetic field are feebly magnetised in the direction of magnetising field are called paramagnetic substances e.g. Al, Na, Sb, Mn etc.
