Derive the expression for power P=Vi in ...

Derive the expression for power `P=Vi` in electrical circuit.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The electrical power P is the rate at which the electrical potential energy is delivered,
`P=(dU)/(dt)=(d)/(dt)(V.dQ)=V(dQ)/(dt)`
Since the electric current `I=(dQ)/(dt)`
So the equation can be rewritten as `P=VI`.
