• retarded skeletal growth
• absence of sexual maturity
• retarded mental ability
• thick and short limbs
• thick wrinkled skin
• bloated face
• protruded enlarged tongue
• low BMR, slow pulse rate,subnormal body temperature and elevated blood cholesterol levels
