(i) Tehri Dam project:
m Tehri dam is the highest dam in India and one of the highest in the world. It is a multi-purpose rock and earth filled embankment dam on the Bhagirathi river near Tehri in Uttarkhand, India. It is the primary dam of the THDC India limited and the Tehri hydro-electric complex. The Tehri Dam with holds a reservoir for irrigation, municipal water supply and the generation of 1000 mega watts of hydro electricity.
(ii) Sardar Sarovar dam project: Sardar Sarovar Dam is a gravity dam on the Narmadha river near Navagam. It is a part of Narmada valley project, a large hydraulic engineering project.

• There are two power houses, red bed power house and canal head power house with an capacity of 1200 mw and 250 mw, respectively.
