A boy throws a stone vertically upwards and catches it later . Is the motion of stone considered as projectile motion ?

A projectile should have two components of velocity in two mutually perpendicular , under the effect of gravity . In this case, the stone has velocity in only one direction (vertical) while up or down , So it cannot be considered as a projectile .
