For the given particle, velocity vector is along the tangent to the path followed and magnetic field is vertical then it is for sure that magnetic force on the charge will act towards or away from the centre of circle i.e. along the length of the string. But depending on upward or downward magnetic field and polarity of charge, this force can be towards the centre or away from the centre also. Hence in the given situation we can say that it will certainly affect the tension but we cannot decide how with the given information.
