A fixed straight wire is near a movable square loop as shown in the figure below.

In which direction is the square loop supposed to move?

The portion of the square loop near the wire is carrying current in a opposite direction. So, there will be repulsion between the two. The opposite side of square carries current in the same direction and hence the two will attract. But repulsion will be more due to less distance between them. Hence overall repulsion will act on the square loop to move it away from wire i.e., towards the right.
