(i) The SI unit of distance in metre (m)
1 mile =1.60 kilometer = `1.60 xx 1000 m`
Unit factor `=(1.60 xx 1000 m)/(1) =(1.6 xx 10^(3) m)/(1)`
`=93 xx 1.6xx 10^(9)` m
`=148.8 xx 10^(9) m = 1.49 xx 10^(11)` m.
(ii) 5 feet 2 inches =62 inches.
1 inch = `2.54 xx 10^(-2)` m
Unit factor `=(2.54 xx 10^(-2))/(1)`
62 inches `=(62 xx 2.54 xx 10^(-2)m)/(1)`
=1.57 m.
(iii) 1 mile = 1.60 kg `=1.60 xx 10^(3)` m
Unit factor `=(1.60 xx 10^(3) m)/(1)`
1hr `= 60 xx 60s = 3.6 xx 10^(3) s`
`=44 ms^(-1)`
(iv) 1 pound =`454 xx 10^(-3) kg`
`therefore` Unit factor `=(454 xx 10^(-3) kg)/(1)`
`therefore 150 =(150 xx 454 xx 10^(-3) kg)/(1 "pound")`
`=150 xx 454 xx 10^(-3) kg = 68.1` kg
