Why are the 'danger signal' lights red in colour ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Out of the various colours of the white light, eye is very sensitive to red colour. Even if the red colour is comparatively less intense, it affects the eye and can detect even in pitch dark night. Therefore, signals with red colour convey quickly that danger is ahead and steps should be taken to avert that danger.
