Explain, why a haemodialysing unit called artificial kidney?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A haemodialysing unit is also called artificial kidney because it is employed to remove toxic waste products like urea from the blood through a dialysing membrane (acts like filtering membrane of Renal corpuscle) into a cleansing solution called diasylate. It is employed in case of uraemia (blood with excess of urea) and acute renal failure.
