What is the direction of areal velocity of the earth around the sun?

Areal velocity is given by ,
`(d vec(A))/(d t) = (vec(L))/(2m)`
where `vec(L)` is the angular momeentum and m is the mass of the earth, respectively.
Also,
`vec(L) = vec(r ) xx vec(p) = vec(r ) xx (mvec(v))`
`:. (d vec(A))/(d t) = (vec(r ) xx (m vec(v)))/(2m) = (vec(r ) xx vec(v))/(2)`
Since the direction of `vec(L)` is perpendicular to the plane containing sun and earth, direction of areal velocity is also perpendicular to the plane containing the earth and the sun.
