Out of aphelion and perihelion, where is the speed of the earth more and why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

At Aphelion, earth is the farthest from the Sun and at Perihelion, it is nearest from the Sun.
Speed of the Earth is more at perihelion, because the earth has to cover greater linear distance to keep the areal velocity constant, as shown in figure.
