Eye glasses are either made of converging lens or diverging lens. Both the types of eyeglasses have meniscus design. Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Eye glasses are made such that the centre of each glass always curves away from the eyes irrespective of the nature of the lens used in the glass. This ensures the light rays incident on the outer circumference of the lens fall perpendicular to the surface. This minimises the distortion caused in image formation.
