The dimensional formula of a phsical ...

The dimensional formula of a phsical quantity x is `[M^(1)L^(2)T^(-2)]` and that of another quantity y is `[M^(1)L^(1)T^(-1)]` . If a third quantity z is directly proportionla to the square of y and inversely proportional to x then find the dimensional formula of z .

Text Solution

(i) `T =2 pi sqrt((l)/(g))`
Multiplying and dividing by `sqrt(m)` (m = mass of the bob) on the right -hand side,
`T=2 pi sqrt((em)/(mg))`
mg= weight of the body
The downward force acting on the bob
What is the net downward force when hte bob is immersed in water ?
