A particle moves in a circle of radius 25 cm at two revolutions per sec. The acceleration of the particle in `m//s^(2)` is:

A

`pi^2`

B

`8pi^2`

C

`4pi^2`

D

`2pi^2`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

Here `T=1/2` sec the required centripetal acceleration for moving in a circle is
`a_C=v^2/r=(romega)^2/r =romega^2 = rxx (2pi//T)^2`
so `a_c=0.25 xx (2pi//0.5)^2 =16pi^2 xx25=4.0 pi^2`
