Explain the concept of the blue revolution .

Blue revolution is the rapid increase in fish production, whicle pisciculture involves rearing and breeding of various types of fishes in aquatic media. Pisciculture jhas bright future in India as there is considerable demand for fish, a number of god culturable native breeds of fishes and presence of large culturable aquatic resources (e.g. 1.6 million hectares of in land fresh water sources and long coastline of 7500 km). Polyculture and induced breeding technique (e.g. hypophysation) has further increased fish production. India occupies 7th position in the world in total fish production.
