In relation to energy transfer in ecosystem, explain the statement ”10kg of deei’s meat is equivalent to 1 kg of lion’s flesh".

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The statement is true because when deer is killed and eaten by lion , then only 10% of energy available with the deer will be transferred to lion and about 90% of deer.s energy will be lost during transfer.
