Why is solute potential always negative ? Explain `Psi_(w)=Psi_(s)+Psi_(p)`.

Because solutions bear lower water potential when compared to pure water. Water potential of water is zero.
`Psi_(omega)=Psi_(s)+Psi_(p)`
More the solutes in a solution more negative will be the value of `Psi_(s)`.
