ATPase enzyme consists of two parts. What are those parts ? How are they arranged in the thylakoid membrane ? Conformational change occur in which part of the enzyme ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`CF_6` and `CF_1` are parts of ATPase enzyme. `CF_0` proton channel is found in thylakoid membrane and `CF_1` is present outside the membrane. Stalk and head piece are located completely across the inner mitochondrial membrane.
Conformational change takes place in `CF_1` due to passing of `H^+`
