Endosperm is triploid. Primary endosperm nucleus is formed by triple fusion. Triple fusion initiates the formation of endosperm. The formation of endosperm occurs prior to the zygote division. In triple fusion one of the gametes fases with secondary nucleus to form primary endosperm nucleus (3N).
