A uniform moving cricket ball is turned back by hitting it with a bat for a very short time interval. Show the variation of its acceleration with time. (Take acceleration in the back ward direction as positive).

Acceleration of the ball is zero just before it strikes the bat and when it strikes the bat, it gets acclerated due to applied impulsive force of the bat and a-t graph is as shown in figure.
