A body is given an initial velocity towards the north and constant acceleration is applied on it towards the south. It `s_(1)` and `s_(2)` are the magnitude of displacements in first 5s and the next 5s respectively then

A

`s_(1)=s_(2)`

B

`s_(1)gts_(2)`

C

`s_(1)lts_(2)`

D

Information is not sufficient to decide the relation between `t_(1)` and `s_(2)` and `s_(2)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
d

Acceleration is opposite to the velocity, hence body comes to rest at a certain instant and then it reverses it motion. Unless we know the time when particle comes to rest, we cannot decide the relation between `s_(1)` and `s_(2)`. Magnitude of initial velocity and acceleration both are required.
