The catalyst is is henced to `300K` and nitrogen is completely desorbed a pressure of `0.001` atm and volume of `2.46cm^(3)` . Calculate the number of sites occupied by niitrogen molecules.

`therefore` Number of `N_(2)` molecules
`=(PV)/(RT) = (0.001 xx 2.46 xx 10^(-3))/(0.0821 xx 300) = 6.023 xx 10^(23)`
Not total number of surface sites = Density x Total surface area
`=6.023 xx 10^(14) xx 1000 = 6.023 xx 10^(23)`
Sites occupied by `N_(2)` molecules
`=20/100 xx 6.023 xx 10^(17)`
`=12.04 xx 10^(16)`
`therefore` No. of sites occupied by each `N_(2)` molecule
`=(12.04 xx 10^(16))/(6.016 xx 10^(16) ) =2`
