Two bodies of masses 10 kg and 20 kg respectively kept on a smooth horizontal surface are tied to the ends of a light string A horizontal force F = 600 N is applied to (i) A and (ii) B aling the direction of string . What is the tension in the string in each case ?

If the 20 kg mass is pulled, 600 – T = 20 a, T = 10 a
` a = 20 ms^(-2)` T = 200N
If the 10 kg mass is pulled , ` a = 20 ms^(-2)` , T = 400N

Two blocks of masses 8 kg and 2 kg respectively lie on a smooth horizontal surface in contact with one another . They are pushed by a horizontally applied force of 15 N . Calculate the force exerted on the 2kg mass .

Two bodies of masses 15kg and 10 kg are connected with light string kept on a smooth surface a horizontal force F=500 N is applied to a 15 kg as calculate the tension acting in the sting

A block of mass 2.5 kg is kept on a rough horizontal surface. It is found that the block does not slide if a horizontal force less than 15 N is applied to it. Also it is found that it takes 5 seconds to slide through the first 10 m if a horizontal force of 15 N is applied and the block is gently pushed to start the motion. Taking g=10 m/s^2 , calculate the coefficient of static and kinetic friction between the block and the surface.

Two blocks of equal mass m are tied to each other through light string. One of the blocks is pulled along the line joining them with a constant force F. Find the tension in the string joining the blocks.
