(b) Explain how the internal resistance of a cell is determined. (c ) How do the following affect the potentiometer circuit when (i) the internal resistance of the driver cell increases, (ii) the series resistor connected to the driver cell is reduced ? Justify your answer.

( c) (i) If internal resistance of the driver cell increases then current I flowing through potentiometer wire and hence potential gradient decreases. (ii) If series resistor connected to the driver cell is reduced, the current I flowing through potentiometer wire as well as potential gradient across the potentiometer wire increase.
