For wiring in the home, one uses `Cu` wires or `A1` wires. What considerations are involved in this ?

There are two considerations while choosing a material for wiring in the home: (a) The cost of the wire should be less
(b) The conductivity of material of wire should be good. These both requirements are met with wires made of copper (Cu) or aluminium (Al). Even though conductivity of other metals like silver, which is more than Cu or Al, but using it for such purposes is not cost effective as silver is an expensive metal.
