Two express trains EMU and DMU cross each other in 15 seconds when they move towards each other . Speed of train EMU and train DMU is 80 km/hr and 64 km/hr respectively . Length of train EMU is 150 metre more than length of train DMU.
`to` Which of the following can be obtained from the above given information .
(i) Time taken by train DMU to cross a man moving in same direction as of train DMU .
(ii) Time taken by train EMU to cross a platform of half of its length.
(iii) Length of train EMU .
(iv) Speed of another train MEMU whose length is equal to average of length of train EMU and DMU .

The correct Answer is:
C

Let length of EMU be (x + 150 ) m
So , length of train DMU be x m
(2x + 150) = (80 + 64) `xx (5)/(18) xx 15` m
=` 144 xx 5 xx (5)/(6) m = 600` m
x = 22.5 m
Length of train A = 375 m
Length of train B = 225 m
(i) Cannot be obtained because speed of man is not given
(ii) Can be obtained
`t = ((375 + 187.5))/(80 xx (5)/(18)) = 25.3` sec .
(iii) it has already obtained
(iv) can't be obtained because no other condition regarding MEMU has been given
Hence only (ii) and (iii) can be find out.
