Two identical containers are open at the top and are connected at the bottom via a tube of negligible volume and a valve that is closed . Both containers are filled initially to the same height of 1.00 m , one with water , the other with mercury , as the figure indicates . The valve is then opened . Water and mercury are immiscible . Determine the fluid level in the left container when equilibrium is reestablished .

Two closed vessel A and B of equal volume of 8.21 L are connected by a narrow tube of negligible volume with open valve. The left hand side container is found to contain 3 mole CO_(2) and 2 mole of He at 400 K. What is the partial pressure of He in vessel B at 400 K?

The figure given below shows three glass chambers that are connected by valves of negligible volume. At the outset of an experiment, the valves are closed and the chambers contain the gases as detailed in the diagram. Two containers C1 and C2 of volumes V and 4V respevtively hold the same ideal gas and are connected by a thin horizontal tube of negligible volume with a valve which is initially closed. The initial pressures of the gas in C1 and C2 are P and 5P, respectively. Heat baths are employed to maintain the temperatures in the containers at 300 K and 400 K respectively. The valve is now opened. Select the correct statement:
