How would you account for the following ?
(i) Hydrogen fluoride is much less volatile than hydrogen chloride.
(ii) Interhalogen compounds are strong oxidising agents.

(i) It is because HF molecules are associated due to intermolecular H-bonding while HCI is not. (ii) It is due to low bond dissociation energy compared to halogens which is due to less effective overlapping.
