Hydraulic classifier method : Hydraulic classifier is a conical reservoir having a hopper at the top and a pipe at the bottom. Finely divided ore particles are dropped in through the hopper and a powerful current of water is introduced through the pipe at the bottom. Gangue particles are lighter and are carried away by the current of water at the top. The heavier ore particles collect at the apex of the cone bottom of the reservoir.
