How are we able to see nearby and also the distant objects clearly ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The human eye has the ability to adjust its focal length according to the distance of object, which is known as power of accomodation. While viewing distant objects, ciliary muscles of the eye relax which makes the eye les thinner. This increases the focal length of the eye lens so that a clear image of the object is formed on the retina. While viewing nearby objects, ciliary muscles contract which increases the curvature of the eye lens. This decreses the focal length of the eye lens so that a clear image of the object is formed on the retina.
