Let BC = distance of boat from lighthouse
i.e. BC=x m
`tan 15^(@)=(70)/(x) " " ...(i)`
`tan 15^(@)=tan [45^(@)-30^(@)]`
`=(tan 45^(@)-tan 30^(@))/(1+tan 45^(@) tan 306(@))=(1-(1)/(sqrt(3)))/(1+(1)/(sqrt(3)))`
`=(sqrt(3)-1)/(sqrt(3)+1)=((sqrt(3)-1)^(2))/(2)=(4-2sqrt(3))/(2)`
`tan 45^(@)= 2 - sqrt(3)`
