Find the area between the x-axis and the curve `y=sinx` from `x=0` to `x=2pi`

A

4 square units

B

2 square units

C

`4` square units

D

`8` square units

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Required area `= int_(0)^(2pi) sin x dx`
`= - cos x|_(0)^(2pi) = -cos2pi - (-cos 0)`
`= - cos (pi+pi) + 1 = -[-cospi] + 1`
`= +cos(pi/2 + pi/2) + 1 = sin '(pi)/(2) + 1 = 1 + 1= 2` sq. units
