What is ecological succession ? Distinguish primary succession from secondary succession.

The gradual and fairly predictable change in the species composition of a given area is called as ecological succession.
Primary succession : starts where no living organism ever existed, May be on bare rock, cooled lava, newly created pond.
Secondary succession : occurs in an area which have lost all living organisms existed. abandonded farm lands, burned/cut forest, flooded lands.
