For the manufacture of Ammonia by Haber'...

For the manufacture of Ammonia by Haber's process, write the equation and optimum conditions for maximum yield of ammonia.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Ammonia is produced by Haber.s process as . Yield of ammonia is favoured by high pressure according to Le - Chatelier.s principle. Other conditions that favour the production of ammonia are as follows :
(i) Temperature - approximately 700 K
(ii) Pressure - 200 atm or `200xx10^(5)Pa`
(iii) Catalyst - Iron
(iv) Promotor - Molybdenum or `K_(2)O` and `Al_(2)O_(3)`.
