Explanation

When electron having very high energy is bombarded on target, X - rays are produced.
X - rays lie between ultraviolet rays and gamma rays.
Its wavelength varies between `10^(-8)m (10 nm)` to `10^(-13)m (10^(-4)nm)`.
Uses :
(i) X - rays are used in medical science to detect fracture in bones and treatment of certain type of cancer.
(ii) Execssive use of X - rays can damage or destroy living tissue and organ hence unnecessary exposure should be avoided.
