If |vec(A)+vec(B)|=|vec(A)-vec(B)|, then...

If `|vec(A)+vec(B)|=|vec(A)-vec(B)|`, then find the angle between `vec(A)` and `vec(B)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`|vecA +vecB| = |vecA-vecB|`
`:. sqrt(A^(2)+B^(2)+2ABcos theta)=sqrt(A^(2)+B^(2)-2ABcos theta)`
or `A^(2)+B^(2) +2ABcos theta = A^(2) + B^(2) - 2AB cos theta`
or `4AB cos theta = 0 " or " cos theta = 0 `
`:. theta = 90^(@)`
