A car is moving with a constant acceleration and initial velocity `2 ms^(-1)` on a straight path. After 10 s it attains the velocity `12 ms^(-1).` Then find the distance covered by it in this 10 s.

The correct Answer is:
D

`v _(0) = 2ms ^(-1) , v = 12 ms ^(-1) , t = 10s`
`therefore a = (v -v _(0))/( t ) = (12 -2)/(10) = 1 ms ^(-2)`
Now, `x = v _(0)t + 1/2 at ^(2)= (2) (10) + 1/2 (1) (10) ^(2) = 70 m`
