Why does a metal bar appear hotter than ...

Why does a metal bar appear hotter than a wooden bar at the same temperature ? Equivalently it also appears cooler than wooden bar if they are both colder than room temperature.

According to Kirchhoff.s rule, good emitters are good absorbers.
Thermal conductivity of metal is more than that of wood. By touching metal and wood at same temperature with fingers, heat transfer from fingers to metal will be quicker than that from fingers to wood. Hence, metal bar appear hotter and at room temperature metal bar appear colder than wooden bar.
