The sizes of the objects we come across in the universe vary over a very wide range. Dimension of nucleus of atom is 10-14 m length of observable universe is `10^(26)` m.
We also use certain special length units for short and large lengths. These are :

Size of nuclesu `=10^(-14)` m
1 Å (angstrom)= `10^(-10)m`
1 nm (nano =`10^(-9)m`
`1 mu m` (micrometer) =`10^(-6) m`
nm (millimeter) = `10^(-3) m`
1 km (kilometer) `=10^(-3) m`
1 Mm (megameter) =`10^(6)m`
1 AI (astronomical unit) `=1.496xx10^(11)` m
1 light year 1 ly `=9.46xx10^(15) m`
1 pc= 1 Parsec `=3.08xx10^(16) m`
Size of galaxy `=10^(21)m`
