What is the acceleration of the block and trolley system show n in a figure, if the coefficient of kinetic friction betw een the trolley and the surface is 0.04 ? What is the tension in the string ? (Take g = 10 `ms^(2)` ). Neglect the mass of the string.

Acceleration of both block will be FBD of 3 kg block

in figure ( b) by Newton second law of motion
`mg = t= ma`
30- t = 3a
for trolly by using Newton second law
`T- f_(k) = ma`
`T= mu_(k) Mg = 20a`
`:. T-8 =20 a`
By taking addition of (1) and (2)
30-8 = 23 a
`:. a= (22)/( 23 )`
`:. a= 0.9565`
From equation (1)
30 -T =3a
: =30 - 3a
T= 27.17 N
