A truck starts from rest and accelerates uniformly at `2.0 m s^(-2)`. At t = 10 s, a stone is dropped by a person standing on the top of the truck (6 m high from the ground). What are the (a) velocity, and (b) acceleration of the stone at t = 11s ? (Neglect air resistance.)

Text Solution

Initial velocity of truck `v_(0) =0 `
At end of 10 s velocity of truck
(a ) Stone moves with constant velocity in horizontal directin hence there will be no change horizontal component of velocity
Stone moves in horizontal directin with constant velocity of 20 `m//s` hence its acceleration is only vertical direction which is gravitatinal acceleration
